Hyperhidrosis treatment - treatment using EL method
Hyperhidrosis treatment
-Treatment using EL method
It is said that about 10% of all Japanese people suffer from armpit bloating and hyperhidrosis.
What is hyperhidrosis
Why do you sweat a lot?
Hyperhidrosis is caused by eccrine sweat glands.Eccrine sweat glands are a symptom associated with the activity of the sympathetic nerve, which is one of the autonomic nerves, and refers to an abnormal increase in sweating that exceeds the range necessary for regulating body temperature.Symptoms are often seen in the armpits, palms of the hands, soles of the feet, and head.If there is no odor, a common way to suppress sweat is to administer anti-perspirant injections regularly. If it is accompanied by an odor, it may be accompanied by armpit irritation. In addition to eccrine sweat glands, the fatty acids secreted by apocrine sweat glands mix with bacteria such as bacteria that are resident on the skin, producing odor.
Surgery carefully!
If you simply undergo other treatments, your hyperhidrosis may not be cured, and you may suffer from scarring for the rest of your life.At our hospital, we provide treatments tailored to each patient's concerns, and we also have treatment methods that make scars less noticeable, so please feel free to contact us.
miraDry® is a microwave-based medical device that acts on eccrine sweat glands to treat severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis. Recently, a case report has been made of a death that is likely due to the use of miraDry® on an unsuitable area (Wen S, et al. Legal Medicine 2022;58:102095). According to the report, a healthy woman who received miraDry® treatment on the perineum, genitals, and perianal area due to body odor experienced severe side effects after treatment, such as persistent fever, persistent pain, and bleeding from the treatment area, and died on the sixth day due to a rapid deterioration of her general condition, which is thought to be due to Fournier's gangrene complicated by toxic shock-like syndrome (case pending). It is unclear at this time whether the miraDry®️ treatment was directly related to the cause of death. In addition, in this case, miraDry®️ was not used to treat severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis. However, we would like to ask you to confirm the content of the appropriate use of miraDry®️ again. miraDry® is a specially-managed medical device and a special maintenance-managed medical device, meaning that if side effects or malfunctions occur when the device is used properly for its intended purpose, it may have a serious impact on human life and health, and therefore requires proper management. The package insert (6nd edition) of August 2019 includes the following warning:

MiraDry is not effective against body odor. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has approved it as a medical device only for patients who suffer from "primary axillary hyperhidrosis," which is excessive sweating in the armpit area. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's website clearly states that it has not been approved as a treatment for body odor because it has not been found to be effective against body odor.
According to a statement from the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency, "The clinical trial results for MiraDry showed that it was unable to meet the clinical trial criteria for odor. Overall, therefore, the review has concluded that the product is only suitable for treating hyperhidrosis, and that it did not demonstrate any odor-reducing effect."
The examination was based on the procedure performed by a doctor, but most beauty clinics use nurses for the procedure. This further reduces the effectiveness and increases the risk. MiraDry is not intended for use in treating anything other than underarm sweating. Neither safety nor effectiveness has been confirmed. It does not reduce odor.

Eliminate your sweat problems with hyperhidrosis treatment that leaves no scars. At our hospital, we offer treatments that do not leave any scars, such as EL (electrolysis), HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound), and antiperspirant injections. We have treatments that are effective not only for sweat, but also for accompanying armpit irritation, so it is effective not only for sweating, but also for odor and yellow stains. We can also treat excessive sweating in areas other than the armpits, such as the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, and head.
For those worried about hyperhidrosis recurrence
Approximately half of our patients have been treated at other hospitals. These include people for whom instrumental treatment or surgery has not been effective, or for those who have developed complications. Our hospital's EL method allows for re-treatment, and many doctors themselves visit our clinic as patients.
How to treat hyperhidrosis
At our hospital, we provide treatment using the following three methods:
EL method (electrolysis method)
This is a treatment method that uses high-frequency energy to pinpoint the source of odor, sweat, and yellow stains, and is less stressful on the body.
HIFU (High intensity focused ultrasonic method)
This is a wakiga treatment that irradiates the sweat gland with the focus energy of ultrasound in a pinpoint manner and destroys it. Ideal for low to moderate wakiga, no skin damage.
Sweat injection
Easily reduce sweat and odor with injections. The effect will vary from person to person, but it will last about half a year.
Comparison of treatment methods
If you are not sure which one is right for you, please do not hesitate to contact us.

About EL method
Director is in charge of everything
The director is responsible for everything from counseling to treatment.
Less scarring and less pain after surgery
The scar is scarcely left because the hair follicle is treated with pinpoint.
Can be treated from children
We encourage parents to take care of their children so that they do not feel anxious.
Possible to deal with recurrence
More than half of our patients will be re-treated if wakiga recurs.
Medical expenses deduction
Those who have paid more than a certain amount of medical expenses will return part of the tax paid by filing a tax return.
Daily life possible from the same day
There is no downtime so you can work or exercise without any restrictions on your daily life.
Treatment options that doctors also choose
When the doctor himself receives, the EL method is selected from many treatment methods.
Less risk from anesthesia
The use of anesthetics at 1/10 the normal concentration reduces the burden on the body.
risk
Notes on EL method
Because the anesthesia is injected, internal bleeding may occur temporarily, but this will subside in about a week. The EL method uses a thin needle to generate heat, which causes mild inflammation that matches the hair follicles, and redness may remain for 1-1 weeks. In addition, the surrounding tissue under the skin also shrinks due to heat coagulation, so you may feel a taut and uncomfortable sensation for about 2-1 weeks. There may be temporary pigmentation that matches the hair follicles, but this will disappear after a short period of time.
Mechanism of EL law
The EL (Electrolysis) method uses high-frequency energy to precisely destroy apocrine sweat glands (the source of odor), eccrine sweat glands (the source of sweat), and sebaceous glands (the source of yellow spots). This is a method to reduce sweat, odor, and yellow stains. It can also be used for hem and chichiga (areola armpit ga). The EL method is a treatment that puts less burden on the body. The reasons why it has not become more widespread are that it is extremely difficult to learn the technology, requires the purchase of special equipment, is much more labor-intensive and time-consuming than surgery, and is unlikely to generate profits for medical institutions.
EL method treatment flow
1.Blood test
We conduct blood tests to prevent nosocomial infections and eliminate risks.
2. Disinfect the affected area
We perform disinfection to perform hygienically.
3. Anesthetic injection
Use extreme care to avoid pain.
4. Implementation of EL method by the director
5. Cooling and application of ointment
Apply ointment and cool to prevent redness and folliculitis.
HIFU
High intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is intensively applied to the apocrine and eccrine sweat glands, and the two sweat glands can be destroyed due to thermal coagulation, and can be used simultaneously with the EL method. Ideal for mild to moderate wakiga, with little post-operative pain and little skin damage.
Treatment time About 20 minutes
Number of treatments 3 times effective
pain None
Side effects Report does not.
Sweat injection
Just by giving an anti-perspirant injection, you can suppress the function of eccrine sweat glands, which are the source of sweat, and reduce sweat and odor. There are almost no restrictions on your daily life from the day you receive the treatment, and it is very simple as all you have to do is get an injection. The effect lasts for about half a year, so it is recommended for those who want to suppress sweat and odor only during a limited period of time, such as during the summer, and in combination with the EL method.
Treatment time About 5 minutes
Number of treatments 1 times
pain None
Side effects There is a possibility of internal bleeding due to injection.
Features of sweat injection
  • Suitable for people with hyperhidrosis
  • Can handle sweat on hands, feet and scalp

Countermeasures against hyperhidrosis you can do yourself
Deodorant measures
Commercially available deodorants are used to reduce sweat secretion by plugging the sweat glands that cause the condition. We recommend the ointment type.If sweat is left untreated, bacteria will grow and cause odor, so one way to prevent this is to wipe it off frequently.
Taking herbal medicine
The cause of hyperhidrosis is related to sympathetic nerve activity.Taking Chinese herbs that calm the nervous system can help.
Improvement of daily life
Nicotine and caffeine, which are found in tobacco and coffee, stimulate the central nervous system, which in turn stimulates the sympathetic nervous system.Be sure to refrain from consuming large amounts on a daily basis, as it may stimulate sweat secretion.
How to treat hyperhidrosis
At our hospital, we provide treatment using the following three methods:
EL method (electrolysis method)
High frequency energy destroys the source of odor, the source of sweat, and the source of yellow spots.
HIFU (High intensity focused ultrasonic method)
This is a wakiga treatment that irradiates the sweat gland with the focus energy of ultrasound in a pinpoint manner and destroys it. Ideal for low to moderate wakiga, no skin damage.
Sweat injection
Since you only need to give an injection, you can reduce sweat and smell very easily in a short time. However, the effect is about half a year, although there are individual differences.
