Progress of mole removal

Reading Time: <1 minuteWe receive many inquiries about mole removal every day. In order to remove moles as much as possible, many ablation treatments using carbon dioxide laser or electric vaporization are also performed. If there is even the slightest suspicion of a malignant tumor or if pathological examination is necessary, it is assumed that removal by excision is preferable. However, from a cosmetic point of view, a considerable amount of scarring may remain, which may be more noticeable than a mole. Although mole treatment using carbon dioxide laser is considered to be the most advanced method, I have been using it for 30 years. Since the treatment is performed using a carbon dioxide laser, moles can be removed neatly and there will be no scars left. In many cases, it is better to have a highly skilled specialist carefully remove the stain using electrotranspiration, leaving no scars. Heat is generated before transpiration, so in our hospital we repeatedly cool the affected area with a -20°C cooling device to prevent heat damage to normal tissues. For anesthesia, we use a drug containing xylocaine and meiron, which has a pH adjusted and causes almost no pain during injection. Depends on the location of the mole, the size of the mole, the depth of the pigment on the mole, the condition of the mole, and the treatment after mole removal. You have to consider everything and decide whether it can be removed cleanly. Immediately after surgery, the area will appear red and look like an abrasion. Because the epithelium is missing, a medical dressing will be applied for about a week to allow for early epithelialization. Scars tend to remain (raised, hypertrophic scars) in areas where the skin moves, such as around the eyes, mouth, and lower jaw. The redness will disappear in about 4 months, changing to almost skin color and becoming less noticeable. During these four months, it is necessary to block out as much light as possible. If the affected area is exposed to strong ultraviolet rays, pigmentation may remain for a long time. The first week of care is important. Immediately after removal, a steroid ointment containing antibiotics is applied once. Apply a medical wound dressing over it. This will cover the scar after mole removal and keep it moist, allowing the epithelium to grow. Once epithelial formation occurs, no dressing is required. No disinfection or topical medication is required. As a general rule, hospital visits are not required.

Mole removal

Reading Time: <1 minuteMany patients come to our clinic every day for mole removal. Moles are a common name, and the original medical term for moles is nevus or pigmented nevus. However, patients come to the doctor's appointment knowing that warts, moles, and age spots are recognized as moles. A mole? In other words, it is a tumor on the pigment or convex bump that is different from the skin color that exists on the skin. Viral warts, senile warts, age-related spots, age-related hemangioma, malignant skin tumors (squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, malignant melanoma), convex scars (hypertrophic scars), etc. Although it looks like a mole, it actually has a different pathological condition than a so-called mole. For this reason, we always use a diagnostic device called a dermascope for diagnosis and treatment. At our hospital, we discover several cases of basal cell carcinoma each year. Naturally, even though it's a mole, treatment methods vary depending on the condition and diagnosis. Recently, there is no end to the number of victims of a certain major cosmetic surgery company that attracts customers with flashy TV commercials and listing advertisements. A malicious fraudulent business is being carried out in which people who call themselves counselors and have no medical qualifications recommend excision surgery and charge high surgical fees. A person who is not even a doctor examines the patient, makes a diagnosis, recommends unnecessary surgery, and exploits the high cost of surgery. Such outrageous acts are taking place. There are many victims of this cosmetic surgery, and various problems have been reported. At our hospital, we will never proceed with any sales activities or surgeries that ignore the wishes of our patients, nor will we ever force them to take out medical loans with high interest rates. We have great doubts about cosmetic surgery procedures that require medical loans, and our clinic has a policy of not allowing patients to take out medical loans. Aesthetic medicine is happiness medicine. You should not go out of your way to undergo beauty treatment and bear the financial burden. Recently, there has been no end to negative news related to cosmetic medicine, such as fatal accidents at cosmetic surgery clinics, malicious medical practices, and sexual assault of minors by major cosmetic surgeons. As a doctor who has practiced as a cosmetic surgeon for many years, I am concerned about the current state of cosmetic medicine. I would like all patients to have the mindset to not be fooled by flashy advertisements, or by false baiting advertisements and PR from influencers. If you have a patient who has suffered damage from cosmetic surgery, please feel free to contact us as we also have a 110 line for cosmetic surgery.

miraDry victim

Reading Time: <1 minuteI have previously pointed out problems with MiraDry on this blog. At many cosmetic surgery clinics, he recommends MiraDry as a treatment for underarm hyperhidrosis. MiraDry is the one that attracts the most advertisements, but even though it is highly recommended, it cannot be said to be a treatment that patients are satisfied with. More than half of the patients who visit our clinic for the first time have had MiraDry experience. In other words, patients who received miraDry treatment but had no effect at all or were unable to obtain satisfactory results come to our clinic requesting re-treatment. There is no problem with the MiraDry treatment device itself. The dark side of cosmetic surgery is that criminal acts or gray zone activities are carried out behind closed doors, and his MiraDry also plays a role in that gray zone business. After miraDry surgery, there is often quite a bit of pain and swelling. The advertising claims that no scalpel is used and there is no pain at all are false. Since the burn is caused to the underarm skin, the pain is almost always intense. MiraDry treatment causes pain that is much stronger than the pain that occurs after surgery. The biggest problem is that the majority of medical institutions do not have doctors performing the procedures. A major cosmetic surgery group is committing a criminal act in which the director, a doctor, has no knowledge or experience in treating armpits, but instead assigns nurses and unqualified receptionists to handle the treatment. Of course, miraDry treatment performed by office workers and nurses is unlikely to be effective due to sloppy power settings and adjustments. Above all, it is impossible for nurses or office staff to perform medical treatment, and it should never be done. If there are any doctors or medical professionals who feel that there is no problem with miraDry being administered by office staff or nurses, we would like to hold a public discussion session at our hospital, so please do so. I would appreciate it if you could let me know by email. Although miraDry treatment performed by nurses and office workers has risks, it cannot be expected to be effective. If you are a patient who is considering miraDry treatment, we would appreciate it if you would consider it.

Beyond exosome therapy! ? Vagus nerve stimulation therapy! !

Reading Time: <1 minute
Yesterday, I gave a lecture to 257 viewers at a web seminar hosted by Celista Co., Ltd. After the lecture, we received many questions.
Thank you all!
Medical treatment and healthcare should be based on evidence, but unfortunately, even in some medical institutions, there are many practices that are far from evidence-based treatment.
In this lecture, we explained the next generation healthcare ``vagus nerve stimulation therapy'' based on the published paper. Vagus nerve stimulation therapy improves all diseases such as dementia, depression, PTSD, autism, infectious diseases, chronic rheumatoid arthritis, epilepsy, and intractable headaches, and even suppresses inflammation, helping to improve COVID-19 infections and the aftereffects of COVID-19. has become an effective treatment, and its mechanism has also been elucidated.
Particularly in the world of aesthetic medicine, the current situation is such that doctors who have no knowledge of regenerative medicine are conducting flashy advertisements to attract customers and administering infusions with unknown ingredients under the name of "exosome therapy" just to make money. There are many.
Manufacturers also ignore the quality of reagents, the ingredients are unknown, the purification method is unknown, and in some cases they do not test the number or quality of exosomes.
This time, I gave a detailed lecture on the evidence and risks of exosome therapy, which is mainly practiced in aesthetic medicine, and vagus nerve stimulation therapy, which is practiced all over the world.
We also explained the actual device development that we are promoting through medical-engineering collaboration.
We are pleased to hear from the organizers that the lecture was very popular.
With the help of various companies, we will strive to popularize evidence-based healthcare that has social significance.

More than exosome therapy! ? I will give a lecture tomorrow!

Reading Time: <1 minuteTomorrow, Sunday, March 10th, I will be giving a lecture at CELISTA Co., Ltd.'s web seminar held every Sunday for medical professionals. https://www.selista.jp/%E3%83%97%E3%83%AC%E3%82%B9%E3%83%AA%E3%83%AA%E3%83%BC%E3%82%B9/2024-2-22-%E6%9C%AB%E6%AD%A6%E5%85%88%E7%94%9F%E3%81%94%E8%AC%9B%E6%BC%94/ In addition to health care, we also talk about theories, methods, and devices that are effective for controlling the emotions of children with developmental disabilities, e-sports, improving concentration in studies, etc., with safety as well as training, care, and conditioning to improve the performance of athletes. I will explain it in an easy-to-understand manner from an evidence-based perspective. In particular, we will provide an easy-to-understand explanation of the comparison with exosome therapy, which has recently become a hot topic, the evidence, and its effectiveness. The current situation in which [exosome therapy], which has no clinical evidence at all, is being carried out by some beauty clinics that prioritize profit and exaggerating its unproven effects is abnormal even when viewed from a global perspective. . There is no evidence, safety confirmation, or approval from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare for exosome therapy. Although it has promise, it is still in the experimental stage, and he is promoting its effectiveness so much that it is not a medical procedure that anyone should administer to a living body. If this is not the case, there is evidence of the safety and effectiveness of exosome therapy, and we can clearly explain the components and logic of exosomes. If you are a doctor or other related person, please contact us and we will hold a public discussion. I would like to do this. We hope that this lecture will have more possibilities than brain science. We hope that this lecture will help you learn about the amazing possibilities of the latest approach to vagus neurology. “Beyond exosome therapy?! Featured ingredients! cysteamine

Reading Time: <1 minuteYesterday, we conducted an MTG review of cosmetics containing the cutting-edge beauty ingredient [cysteamine] with the cosmetics staff of INFIX Co., Ltd. https://www.infix-inc.info/, where I serve as a development advisor. Up until now, topical drugs such as hydroquinone and tranexamic acid have been the mainstream for treating spots such as melasma. However, as a cosmetic ingredient, a beauty serum containing [cysteamine], which is gentle on the skin but has an efficacy comparable to that of 24% hydroquinone, is used to treat blemished skin. This cosmetic product can be recommended as one of the best choices for patients. “We compared the symptom relief of an antioxidant serum containing 3% cysteamine and 8% L-ascorbic acid (MELA BRIGHT ® [C+]) with a reference treatment drug (hydroquinone 4%) in 4 patients with melasma. , as assessed by clinical examination over a 2-month period and a preliminary examination 2 months after treatment. Two months after treatment, clinical tests showed that both treatment methods significantly reduced melasma by an average of 18%, indicating similar efficacy. ” Melasma: A serum substitute for hydroquinone: Dr. Aoi Nakano et al. reported on a comparative study of applying cysteamine to half the face. There are only a limited number of cosmetic products that contain active ingredients that can be used by medical institutions. Looks like we can expect it. INFIX is a leader in aesthetic medicine in various fields such as education and product development, and is one of the top cosmetic medical manufacturers in Japan. I have also given lectures at academic conferences, symposiums, and the aesthetic medical community. Aesthetic medical awareness, education, etc. In recent years, the cosmetic medical industry has been plagued by troubles, profits, and treatments without evidence. Cosmetic surgeons and dermatologists with extremely limited experience are worsening the image of cosmetic medicine. Cosmetic dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons need to stay up to date with the latest information and study every day.

Beauty clinic in violation of the Medical Practitioners Act [Crime]

Reading Time: <1 minuteThere have been many cases in which patients who come to our hospital have been diagnosed by someone other than a doctor and recommended surgery, resulting in harm. There are many cases where a counselor who is not a doctor and who does not seem to have medical qualifications will examine, diagnose, and remove the mole for her at a high cost, and if she performs the same-day surgery, they will give her a special discount and force her to perform the surgery on the same day. There are complaints from patients. No one other than a doctor can diagnose it. In addition, benign tumors such as senile warts that almost do not require removal at all and can be easily removed using carbon dioxide laser or electrolysis. Excision is not an option. The problem is that counselors, who are not doctors, examine patients, make diagnoses, and recommend surgery. This is a fraudulent method in which all benign tumors that do not need to be removed undergo resection and demand a high treatment fee. This is a criminal act carried out in the name of medical care. This is an unacceptable act that gives a very bad image to aesthetic medicine. Many cosmetic surgeons know that this cosmetic surgery clinic is a problematic and unscrupulous cosmetic surgery clinic that uses flashy TV commercials and listing advertisements. I hope that patients will be well-informed and have the courage to refuse treatment if someone other than their doctor recommends treatment.

The dark side of armpit ga and hyperhidrosis treatment

Reading Time: <1 minuteIn recent years, non-invasive treatments that do not use a scalpel have been developed to treat armpit bloat and hyperhidrosis, and treatments that require less downtime have become popular. Currently, there are the following methods for treating armpit bugs: 1. Surgery 2. MiraDry 3. Viewhot 4. EL method 5. Botox injection 6. Disadvantages of each topical drug. There are advantages. At our hospital, 4.5.6. Our patients are satisfied with our treatment. In either case, there is no downtime, and you can take a bath and play light sports on the same day, and there is no post-operative swelling. Unfortunately, more than half of the patients who visit our hospital for the first time come for MiraDry or Beauhot recurrence or scar correction treatment. There are many medical institutions that use MiraDry, but the reality is that most of them are performed by nurses. In other words, nurses are performing treatment actions that should normally be performed by doctors. Nurses may perform injections, assist with procedures, and remove hair under the supervision of a doctor, but they are not permitted to perform medical treatments. In particular, treatment procedures that destroy sweat glands by applying large amounts of heat energy to the body are also accompanied by risks. Most of the supervising doctors have never treated armpit bugs themselves or even performed surgery. As a cosmetic surgeon, I have performed more than 1,500 cases of underarm surgery, and I am confident that I have the highest number of cases in Japan. We have been providing armpit pain treatment for over 30 years and have been able to respond to all kinds of patient concerns. Nowadays, doctors who prioritize business and have no knowledge of armpit problems are doing the wrong thing in cosmetic medicine, leaving the treatment to nurses and making corrections. Local anesthesia also has risks. There have also been cases of xylocaine poisoning caused by injecting large amounts of 2% xylocaine. I would like people to refrain from believing in advertisements and receiving treatment easily. The doctor who gave the initial explanation should guarantee the safety and effectiveness of the treatment until the end. I see advertisements saying that miraDry is safe and has little downtime because it is painless and does not use a scalpel, but this is absolutely not the case. Since this is a treatment that applies heat to the skin, there will be considerable burns and the pain and swelling will be worse than surgery. It is never pain-free or without downtime. In fact, it is much more painful and causes more swelling than surgery. Although it is not ineffective, I believe that the MiraDry treatment administered by the nurse should be performed with caution. If there are any doctors who truly believe that miraDry treatment should be performed by a nurse, I would appreciate it if you could contact me. I would like to discuss in detail its illegality, risks, problems, and effects.

Attention level of cosmetic surgeons

Reading Time: <1 minute
Eimi Fukada's "additional tax 8000 million yen" A simple love with a "handsome blonde doctor" who supports the betrayal of her former agency
The other day, there was an article in the media about the tax issues of a sexy actress named Eimi Fukada. At the same time, there were also reports of her dating a handsome cosmetic surgeon. He was advertised as a cosmetic surgery instructor who was hired at a cosmetic surgery clinic, but he has only been a cosmetic surgeon for less than a year, and recently there have been cases in which cosmetic surgeons have been attracting attention due to extramarital affairs, sexual assault, and fatal accidents. However, the problem is not with the cosmetic surgery itself, but rather with the quality of the doctor. It is impossible to become a cosmetic surgeon instructor in less than a year, and it is absolutely impossible to teach surgical procedures. The reason is that cosmetic surgeons do not focus on surgical techniques, but rather carefully monitor the postoperative course, problems, and results, and accumulate many cases. If they cannot perfect their skills, including dealing with individual differences and various variations, and troubleshooting, they will be left alone. Not before. Furthermore, if you are going to instruct other doctors, you will need at least 10 years of clinical experience in cosmetic surgery. Cosmetic surgery has received mixed reviews from doctors in other departments, calling it money-making, flirtatious, and vulgar PR. Cosmetic medicine is medicine that makes the face and body look beautiful, not medicine that treats diseases. In other words, it is a medical treatment that achieves a goal by inserting a scalpel into a healthy body or applying stress to the body, so it is a medical treatment that absolutely requires a healthy level of recovery. To this end, it is important to have a good eye for choosing adaptations. It is a fact that there are cosmetic surgery clinics that perform surgery on everything, and many problems occur. I have been working as a clinical cosmetic surgeon for 34 years, and I cannot understand the feelings of a cosmetic surgeon who has little experience and easily performs risky surgeries for profit, even though there are many surgeries that he is afraid to perform. I hope for a future where low-quality cosmetic surgeons are eliminated and cosmetic surgery is regarded as legitimate happiness medicine.
