Reading Time: <1 minute I am currently teaching a course called "Alternative Medicine and Ethics" at Juntendo University Graduate School of Medicine. In this course, I talk about the risks of taking supplements every year, in light of the current situation where information about supplements is overflowing and only the benefits are promoted one-sidedly. Some overseas supplements contain the same ingredients as pharmaceuticals even if they are called supplements, so caution is required. It is well known that there was a case where a person who purchased a Chinese diet supplement on the Internet died. In particular, caution is required when it comes to imported products from overseas, as the ingredients may not be as indicated. I think it is safer to never use diet supplements.
