Reading Time: <1 minuteWe receive many consultations from patients who are troubled by odor around the areola. Most patients who are troubled by odor around the areola are also troubled by body odor. The unique odor around the areola is also called "breast odor" or "breast body odor" or "areola body odor". So which part of the areola is the odor coming from? Many patients cannot tell us exactly which part. It seems that many patients complain that the odor is on their underwear if their bra has an odor. In fact, the apocrine sweat glands, which are the source of the breast odor, are not at all abundant in the brown areola area. Rather, they are abundant in the skin around the areola, and in most cases the odor comes from the skin-colored skin around the areola. The main goal of treatment is to destroy the apocrine sweat glands not only in the areola but also in the skin around it. However, it is known that many doctors who treat breast odor with MiraDry are not aware of this fact. Treating breast odor with MiraDry... that's outrageous. The areola is very delicate and sensitive, and there are many cases where the pain is unbearable after MiraDry treatment. Before that, I believe that it is contraindicated to perform MiraDry on the areola, and the manufacturer and several academic societies have issued firm recommendations that treatment is not recommended because it is an unsuitable area. As a result of treating an unsuitable area with MiraDry, severe burns occurred, leading to skin necrosis and infection, and the patient died six days after the MiraDry treatment, which is an extremely tragic death. I have repeatedly written on my blog about the risks and ineffectiveness of MiraDry treatment and irradiation of unsuitable areas, but there are several cosmetic surgery clinics that are making exaggerated advertisements. It is unfortunate. It is an unscrupulous act that prioritizes profit over the risk to the patient's body. It is common for there to be severe pain and swelling after MiraDry treatment. The reason is that heat is applied to the skin over a wide area. No matter how many cooling devices are used, the area treated with MiraDry will eventually be burned. Moreover, if the treatment is not performed by a doctor but by a nurse who has no knowledge of nipple odor, the results will be disastrous. Many patients have come to our clinic after receiving MiraDry treatment from a nurse at a dishonest cosmetic surgery clinic, only to find that it was completely ineffective and caused severe pain. Our clinic uses the pinpoint apocrine sweat gland selective destruction treatment (EL method), so there is almost no swelling or pain other than temporary mild redness of the pores after surgery. Furthermore, the skin does not become necrotic. For care, antibiotics and ointments to suppress inflammation are applied after the treatment. Patients suffering from breast odor should absolutely refrain from undergoing MiraDry, a completely ineffective, extremely painful, and risky treatment. Please consult our clinic, and our director, Nobuhiro Suetake, will carefully perform a treatment that is safe, effective, and has the least downtime possible. Don't be fooled by the advertisements of dishonest cosmetic surgery clinics! MiraDry is not suitable for breast cancer and is a completely ineffective treatment that involves risks and downtime.
