Reading Time: <1 minuteWe are also seeing an increase in consultations about odors in the delicate zone known as hem (groin odor, underarm odor). We receive many consultations about odors from the delicate zone, but there are many apocrine sweat glands in the hairy skin of the delicate zone, and treatment of this area is the key to reducing odors. MiraDry treatment is advertised loudly in all media. It is advertised as a treatment device approved by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, but the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has only approved it for the treatment of primary axillary hyperhidrosis, that is, hyperhidrosis of the armpits, and has determined that it is ineffective for odors. The website also clearly states that it is ineffective against axillary odor, meaning that it is not suitable for use. Furthermore, there is currently no evidence of efficacy for hem and underarm odor, and many patients who come to our clinic for consultations after receiving MiraDry due to severe pain after surgery or ineffective treatment have come to our clinic for retreatment. The delicate zone is particularly sensitive to pain compared to the armpits, and if this area is burned after treatment with MiraDry, it will cause severe pain. Moreover, it is a particularly big risk when performed by a nurse, and it is a treatment that should never be performed. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has also denied its effectiveness, and nurses are performing treatments in the delicate zone, which is considered a gray zone treatment, outside the applicable area. Many patients come to our hospital suffering from aftereffects and problems due to careless treatment by nurses. MiraDry treatment by nurses and MiraDry treatment on delicate zones are impossible medical procedures, so please do not receive them under any circumstances. Treatment should be received from a doctor, not a nurse. If you receive treatment from a nurse just because it is cheap, there is a very high possibility that you will be left with serious aftereffects or that it will have no effect at all. There is no responsibility, and nurses are not experts in hemlock treatment. I doubt whether legitimate medical procedures are being performed at medical institutions that entrust treatment to nurses. The EL method is definitely effective, has little downtime, and you can receive treatment with peace of mind as it is performed by a specialist. I do not completely deny MiraDry treatment, but I feel that the MiraDry business, which attracts customers with false and exaggerated advertising and provides MiraDry treatment carelessly by nurses, is a big dark side of cosmetic medicine. If there are any doctors or nurses who claim that nurse treatment is legitimate, we would love to have a discussion in our magazine. Nurses should not perform MiraDry treatment. We look forward to hearing from you.
